  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?    It says here... 7 years. Wow! But before any of that, Happy birthday, DA!

  2. What does your username mean?    I forgot what was the impulse of using "Asylum", but I've been using it ever since. XD

  3. Describe yourself in three words.    I. Am. Myself.

  4. Are you left or right handed?    Right-handed.

  5. What was your first deviation?    I think it's this one.   Northradine Sentinel by bentonAsylum

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create?    Comic strips and doodles. Some poetry, too, I guess.

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? Sculpture. or Film.

  8. What was your first favourite?    I'm too lazy to dig through my favorites folder and I forgot. XD

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?    Digital art.

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?   Pascal Campion! :iconpascalcampion:

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?  Pascal Campion, again!

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?    When they express their appreciation for my work, it humbles me and inspires me at the same time. I also aspire to be as good as my fellow deviants.

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art?    Pencil, ballpen, digital tools.

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?    The outside world. It's where I gather inspiration. Thinking and gathering ideas is a big part in the art process. And speaking of thinking, I do a lot of it in the toilet. XD

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?    When a deviant first faved my work. Yey!

  16. (this isn't the 16th question but I don't know how to disable the bullets XD) #DeviantArtistQuestionnaire

So, this year's Comicon was a disappointment... But who cares? I gave away more free stuff than those comic artists under the great white tent. I think. (Rejoice, I'll never be as good as them.)

Fret not for there are still more conventions this month and beyond. And hopefully, I'll get to print more postcards and bookmarks while our ink supply lasts. Sorry, mother! See you at these events:
Oct. 15 - Cosmosis @ Robinson's Cybergate
Oct. 29 - Archcon @ Sacred Heart School - Jesuits Gym
Feb. 4, 2012 - Otakufest V: Old School @ UP Cebu Grounds

Underground/out-of-scene artists FTW!

FREE SHADOWPLAY COMIC BOOKMARKS! Jinx, jinx, jinx!

Yep, you're not delusional (as I am). With only a few days left until the 2nd Cebu Comics Convention, procrastination is still the dominatrix. Whip me good, yeah! And on a super-tight budget, too i.e., if I even have one.

Not that I'm one of the invited comic artists, I just wanna share. Yes, that noble act of sharing without getting anything in return... or perhaps a free admission won't hurt. Why the hell is there an entrance fee anyway!? School admin or event organizers' decision? That thing's gonna be held at UP. I'll probably tell them I have a class (even on a 3-year-running AWOL status), so back off! Oh, where was I?

See you on Oct. 1, Saturday at the UP Cebu College. Hopefully, I get to see a lot more than last year. But the truth is, I'm only looking forward to having another drinking/karaoke session with Manix Abrera and my friends hehe~

Volunteer work: you give things for free, you get things for free.

Being a companion for Japanese students is pretty rewarding in unexpected ways. I can't say anything more. (I think my word bank has gone kaput, English and Nihongo alike.) Basta, lingaw hardcore!

(But I won't mention anything about the live JDrama at the airport on their way home. *mucus*)

Sept. 26, 2010. A manic Sunday...I mean, MANIX pare!

Due to one of our friend's "charms", Manix Abrera (just the hands behind Kiko Machine and 12), lost his sense of reason and decided to hang out with us, lowly ACT-UP members.

No one [i.e. his companion artists from Manila who attented the 1st Cebu Comicon] wanted to go out with him later that day. Not a million XD's could describe our spinning insouciance. &%#&!@^ina! My measly Tagalog almost ran out.

We took him on a short tour in UP Cebu, then ate at Larsian's. And to cap the day, beer and karaoke at none other than Lola Liang's Eatery. (We said our goodbyes around 2am+ the following day). And frequent autograph signings along the way!

He was a freakin simple guy...and he soon realized that Red Horse tastes better in Cebu. XD
We gave him a parting gift — a comical, speed drawing of us all from our friend Tom. ^^

Maraming salamat, Manix! Sobra!

From Sept. 11 to 12, 2010, we swept ourselves to Bacolod City to attend the Hasik Advocacy Filmmaking seminar by Dakila.

Honestly, I could only describe the experience within the confines of a 4-letter F word. FILM!

...And F*CK! If you've only been there with us, you'd have heared the great direk Peke Gallaga say that a thousand times in different variations, occasionally reminding himself, "I like to say 'f*ck' a lot."

Now, I'm back to work-mode. F*ck! I wanna get outta here and start filming!

P.S. I got his and Vin Dansel's autograph. And f*ck you, Lourd de Veyra, for not being there!

I was literally holding on to my seat while Bohemian Rhapsody played on the local radio. And that was it. That woman almost cut my goatee...anything but that. But I'm still alive and I've got another year to grow my hair again. You'll recognize me nonetheless...take 5 seconds perhaps.

How can I ever thank Kenny for giving me her extra CRT monitor? At last, after six years, I can finally glue my eyes on a 1280 x 1024 screen!

My monitor is dead.

...What a way to celebrate my PC's 6th year. So if anyone has an old but still operational CRT monitor, or maybe even an LCD, please donate it to me. I friggin' need it.

I shall GLADLY dedicate an artwork for the one who whole-heartedly donates his/her monitor. I can print it for you if you want. Thanks in advance, dude.

No non-poster/non-promotional stuff for the next months. Inspiration is going away, soon... Can't, and won't, hold her back. To be blunt, yes, "her." Bye-bye and be safe. May the force be with you.

I'll delay the literary stuff and submit them together with (hopefully a series of) Flash animations!

By being enrolled in the VC 50 class (one of the 3 classes I did not abandon), I have to come up with just one animation by March [finals week]. Fortunately, I already finished two. Now isn't that being too "unlazy"?

I'm writing some new material for our band. (bah, who cares...)

Surprise, surprise! I'll be submitting literary stuff this time, some pieces that I've done long time ago and some that are fresh. I'm pretty much excited but the problem is... we lost our internet connection early last October! Oh well, delays, delays.

Due to long foreseen circumstances involving money and maintaining its already unsteady supply, I have decided to quit school and ease my parents' burden of putting 4 kids to school while spending for a household of 9 people. Not to mention that we're so buried in debts (including that of our country's and this applies to all of us except those who earnestly evade their taxes) that the hole will eventually be our graves. This is an understatement.

So help me find a job. Easy, eh?

(It's ironic that we still have internet access, hehe~ Screw it, dude!)
